In 1976 the Rotterdam Municipal Archive decided to take pictures of all grave stones in the three-hundred-year-old Jewish cemetery on the Oostzeedijk. This was a wise move as many are now barely readable. This beautifully designed book on the history of the cemetery, though mainly in Dutch, not only contains these pictures, but also the Hebrew text of every grave stone accompanied by an English translation.
